Newsletter Exercise
Dr. Linda Perry

OBJECTIVE: To learn the fundamentals of newsletter production using InDesign.

Reproduce two pages of the A4 newsletter, The Newsletter on Newsletters, and print it front and back on one sheet of paper. Submit the visual to your lab instructor by the due date listed in the syllabus and schedule.

1. CROPPING AND SCALING: Crop and scale all halftones used in this assignment in Photoshop before placing the art in InDesign. The cropping and scaling exercises completed earlier in lab will be factored into this part of the newsletter grade.

2 THE VISUAL: Reproduce the newsletter in InDesign and print your visual in colour. One side represents four-color process; the other is a two-color side. Edit body copy, and place InDesign with type specs set in the correct format. Type all headlines, cutlines and other miscellaneous type, such as folio, in the correct format.
