  • Gannt Chart
    • Named for its developer, Henry L. Gannt
      • Devised for scientific management in early 1900s
      • Used for planning and record of progress
      • Alerts managers of need to adjust to get back on schedule
      • Shows activities on vertical axis
        • Sequenced in chronological order
      • Total time for completion on horizontal axis

      Add a color key for each issue
      Red: August issue, etc.

       

  • Scheduling
    • Think through all steps
      • Identify those that must be completed before next step can be taken (critical path)
    • Include
      • A critique session for each issue
      • An evaluation time to assess whether objectives met
    • Use the printing specifications list for printing-related activities
